Conditioning
When it comes to conditioning our game birds to compete on
the long knife, we are talking about preparing them to master a sport that
values speed, power, gameness, and cutting precision. Some breeds of game birds
have all these traits. However, we can train our game birds to be more agile,
strong, and precise. A fight in the long knife, most of the time, does not last
more than 2 minutes. But the way we train them will determine how prepared and
strong they are both on the short route and in the fight until the last breath.
If our game birds are already very good and come
from a proven and tested bloodline, we can improve them even more with the
proper training or conditioning. There are many conditioning methods that we
can apply to our game birds and we can train them the way we want. But keep in
mind that one of the most important parts of the conditioning of our game birds
is the rest period.
Our game birds need it so that they can reload, with more staying power, and with more energy to face the most difficult challenges that await them on the day of the fight.
While it may be difficult to detect exactly what the roosters
would look like when they are at their peak at any given time of the day, the
biggest challenge, however, lies in how to capitalize on this
"peaked" state that these roosters are experiencing and keep it there
for a certain period of time.
This is where knowledge and experience come into play. Everyone can be a cocker, but it takes a skillful one to use what he knows to win and be consistent with it. And while luck can play an important role in this sport that we all love, what you know about the sport (what’s in your head) is an indispensable tool that you can use to your advantage.
Pointing
The ability to
point-out a show of gamefowl is not, in itself an art, rather it is simply a
matter of knowing what pointing is all about and using that knowledge to help
overcome the problems that are most commonly associated with the pointing
procedures.
Pointing tips

Fighting weight less Give and take = Submitted weight ( be sure to calibrate your weighing scale). You may opt to lessen or control their fluid intakes to dry them up a little bit ( depends on the bloodlines you have). Feed Ratio this time : 40% Pellets 40 %
Crack corn 20 % Grain Concentrate. Rotation whole day. Keeping pen, then let them drop every three hours then keep again. Just a few hours for moisture at night then keeping pen again. You may opt to give a booster dose of Neurobion Forte Inj. .10 ml
